Michaela Benthaus, a German aerospace engineer, suffered a spinal cord injury after a mountain bike accident. She was on board the Blue Origin New Shepard rocket with five other astronauts as they went 65 miles above Earth on Saturday.
Update: Blue Origin is now targeting an 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. CT launch due to forecasted winds in West Texas, according to its website. Another six lucky few – including one man from Florida – are about to soar high above Earth on a Blue Origin rocket.
Blue Origin has announced the names of the next six passengers who will fly to the edge of space on its New Shepard, including a Florida resident.
